Sixth Form is an amazing time to make a fresh start, to decide who you want to be, and to get ready for life beyond school. Because of this, we treat our Sixth Form as a stepping-stone between school and university, and as such students are awarded much more independence than they may be used to in the lower school. We have high expectations of our students, but we also provide a supportive and caring environment, assuring that every student gets the most out of their time at Wellington Sixth Form.
While our numbers for Oxbridge and Ivy League universities are growing, we measure success through our students achieving the grades for their preferred university, wherever that may be.

This is an especially exciting year for the 6th form too, with our two major new buildings opening – Elizabeth House in the Summer, and the new Sixth Form Centre in October half term. This Centre will be a hub for our 6th form, a place for purposeful study, with a variety of learning spaces, including silent study, collaborative study, and a more social study space complete with cafe. The offices of key staff will be located in the building, with the IB team, HE team, and Sixth Form team all visible and available to support our students. But more than anything, it will be a place for the 6th form to grow its identity, exploring more university-style learning, surrounded by key staff and sixth form specific resources.
We have a huge range of exciting opportunities in our Sixth form, not least the broad choice of subjects on offer, which you can access through the links on the page below. There are many leadership opportunities, a wonderful academic enrichment programme, alongside regular HE and careers guidance. Our HE team is specialised and broad reaching, and our results last year and our offers for this year are testament to the individualised advice and guidance students can expect from the Wellington Sixth Form team. While our numbers for Oxbridge and Ivy League universities are growing, we measure success through our students achieving the grades for their preferred university, wherever that may be. We don’t believe everyone has the same goals, nor do we believe that everyone should; rather, we want to get our students to where they want to be; to the university, course, apprenticeship or gap year that suits them best.
I hope that this website provides a wealth of information, both about the courses we offer, the enrichment programmes, pastoral care and HE, alongside current and up to date news from the Sixth Form. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with any of the staff listed below.
