Last week, Wellington College Rugby Club proudly presented their traditional 1st XV rugby jerseys to the team, marking the end of a five-year journey for many of these students.

Sam Knights, the Head of Rugby Development, commented:

“It has been another positive season for the 1st XV, with notable victories over Whitgift, Dulwich, and Tonbridge. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Upper Sixth leavers, who have undoubtedly made a lasting impact on the Wellington Rugby club.”

During the Michaelmas term, the 13 college teams played 161 matches. Notably, Yearlings A’s went undefeated throughout the 15-aside season and reached the final of the Rosslyn Park national 7s competition.

Looking ahead to the next season, we are taking 28 senior boys to Cape Town for a preseason performance camp. Additionally, we are excited to welcome the new 3rd form students.

The Wellington College Rugby Club has a rich and proud history. Our aim is to provide all pupils with an equal opportunity to develop not only as players but also as people and positively contribute to this legacy.
