A core part of the Wellington Community’s work is to provide high quality career advice and guidance to students. One of the many ways this is delivered is through career speed networking events, which are a joint venture between the Wellington Futures (Careers and HE team) and the Community Team.
On March 11th, we held our latest speed networking session. We were overwhelmed with the support from parents, OWs, and friends of the College who were willing to share their experiences and advice with our students. Together, they represented a huge variety of career paths and companies, including Thames Water, Disney, Netflix, LEGO, WWF, to name a few. Each session lasted 10 minutes, giving students the opportunity to explore career options, receive practical tips on next steps, and practice the important skill of networking.
Murray Lindo, Head of the Wellington Community commented on the event:
“I am a huge fan of these events and I believe strongly that careers advice should start as early as possible for your children when they come to Wellington – and I was really pleased to see so many of the younger years in attendance. Judging by the buzz in the room I know the students loved it too!”
Thank you so much to everyone who joined us. If you want to connect with someone you met on Saturday, or missed out and want to get ahead with your networking, make sure you’re signed up to our exclusive professional networking platform, WellingtonConnect.
