This summer, many of us were captivated by the incredible triathlon events at the Olympic Games, showcasing the grit and dedication of athletes who truly leave everything on the course. Following in the footsteps of these inspiring athletes, Wellington College student Nell W recently took on her own challenge at the World Age Group Triathlon Championships in Torremolinos, representing Bermuda.

A huge congratulations to Nell, who, despite being new to triathlon, placed an impressive 22nd! Battling through challenging conditions that included a rough sea swim, Nell pushed herself on the bike and capped off the race with a strong run, completing the event in a remarkable time of 01:21:56.

The sprint race format tested Nell with a 750m swim, a 20k cycle, and a 5k run, demanding both speed and endurance. Joining her was Wellington College’s Head of Triathlon, Katy Granville-Chapman, who competed alongside Nell and secured a remarkable 16th place in her category.

We are incredibly proud of both Nell and Katy for their outstanding performances. Congratulations to you both for competing on the international stage and inspiring us all!
