Wellington Real Tennis Club has been overwhelmed by the positive response from local schools, with over 70 new juniors signing up to try Real Tennis over the Summer holiday.

A huge thank you goes to The Dedanists’ Foundation, a grant-giving charity created with the sole aim of increasing youth involvement in Real Tennis. Sessions are offered free of charge due to the financial support from the Dedanists’ Foundation and Wellington College.

Dan Jones, the Head Professional of Wellington Real Tennis, spoke about the programme:

“Its been great to work with the Wellington Outreach programme and The Dedanists’ Foundation who have supported the coaching programme and provided opportunities for so many local school children to try out the exciting sport of Real Tennis with the view of taking up the sport on a regular basis.

As a player, coach, and manager of WRTC, this programme is incredibly exciting. It serves as a springboard to promote and grow Real Tennis in this community and allow local children to play regularly. You never know; we could have a world champion in the making or future promoters or court builders of this amazing game.”

Two more open days are scheduled for the 5th and 19th August from 9.30 am to 1.15 pm. For more information, please email Dan Jones at dpj@wellingtonfitness.co.uk.
