This summer has been packed with outstanding sporting achievements, reflecting the hard work and commitment of our students across a wide range of disciplines. Here’s a look at some of the most notable successes:
At the start of the summer holidays, the Boys 1st XI Cricket team travelled to Sedbergh and won the BOWS Festival, overcoming both their opponents and challenging weather conditions to secure a well-deserved victory.
We are proud of T, who represented England Rugby U18s on an overseas tour to South Africa. Oscar made a notable contribution by scoring a try against Georgia, showcasing his skill on the international stage.
In Athletics, Will A reached the final of the 110m Hurdles at the English Schools Track and Field National Championships, finishing 7th. He also helped the Berkshire 4x100m relay team to a strong 6th place finish. A special mention goes to Ella D, who won the 1500m Steeplechase in the senior girls’ category and also represented England U20.
Congratulations to Freya W.-D and her netball team for winning the U15 “School Games Title” with Surrey Storm U15s—a fantastic achievement.
Riya S excelled in Fencing, competing in the Leon Paul Junior Series in both Foil and Sabre. She achieved 2nd place in Sabre and 7th in Foil, and also performed well at the English Youth Championships, placing 23rd in Foil and 13th in Sabre.
Good luck to Jessica P who has been invited to ride for Great Britain this coming weekend in Munich!
In swimming, Martha C returned from the nationals with both a silver and bronze medal, reflecting her hard work in the pool.
TeamGym continues to be a strong area, with Amelia C winning Gold at the TeamGym Senior British Championships. Jemima B and Mabel B also performed well, earning a silver medal and 4th place in their respective categories. Amelia T added to the success with two golds and a silver at the British Gymnastics Championships, and she has been selected once again to represent GB at the Aerobic Gymnastics World Junior Championships.
Finally, on the golf course, Ellie L had an outstanding summer. She was selected to play for the England Girls’ Team in the Home Internationals, where her team emerged as champions. She also made history as part of the GB & Ireland Girls’ team, which became the first Lions Team to defeat The Continent of Europe in the Junior Vagliano Trophy.
These achievements are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students. We are proud of each and every one of them!
