Valentina’s Snow Globe gets Wellington all Christmassy.

Valentina C has been selected as this year’s winner of the College Christmas Card Competition. The brief, to design a Wellington themed card featuring a contemporary take on a classic idea, was handed to Wellington’s newest Art Scholars back in June. Valentina’s idea, to place Wellington’s iconic North Front inside a Christmas snow globe, impressed the judges with its detail, meticulous rendering, and sense of fun.

Valentina, now in her second year at College, was previously educated at Dulwich College Singapore. Alongside her Art, she says she loves her English lessons the most, as well as being a keen member of the CCF – she is already a member of the prestigious colour Party – and representing the College in the Shooting team. When asked why she chose Wellington she pointed to the varied Weekend programme, and the fact that ‘there is genuinely something for everyone here’.

The judges would also like to congratulate our runner-up, Louis W, whose stunning artwork was equally worthy of being printed. Both designs truly captured the spirit of Wellington at Christmas.
