Our skiers competed alongside peers from six other schools, including Harrow, Reeds, Dulwich College, Marlborough College, Eton, and Westminster. After time trials, Victor (M), Oscar (Hl), and Cecilia (E) earned places in the Canada Cup division, while Diane (C), Tabitha (Hn), Evie (T), Laszlo (M), Alex (T), and Wilf (Bn) competed in the Challenge Cup.
The team achieved outstanding results, bringing home eight medals and one trophy. Highlights included the Women’s Team winning gold in the Grand Slalom Challenge Plate and the squad earning gold in the Dual Slalom Canada Cup Plate. The team also secured silver in the Canada Cup Plate, shared with Marlborough College.
Individual successes were equally impressive. Diane (C) won gold in both the Challenge Cup Slalom and the Women’s Challenge Cup Grand Slalom. Oscar (Hl) earned silver in the U14 Grand Slalom Canada Cup, while Tabitha (Hn) and Evie (T) joined Diane (C) on the podium in the Women’s Challenge Cup Grand Slalom, claiming silver and bronze.
The festival concluded with a gala dinner at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, where achievements were celebrated with fellow competitors.
We are proud of the team’s dedication, sportsmanship, and hard work, which brought great recognition to Wellington College. As we look ahead, we wish our ski team continued success at the upcoming British School Boy Championships in Wengen and the British School Girls Championships in Flaine later this month.
