Upper Sixth student Will has achieved an incredible milestone in his athletic career, winning a bronze medal at the England National U20 Indoor Combined Events Championships in Sheffield on 18th January 2025. Competing against the nation’s top young multi-event athletes, Will demonstrated remarkable skill and determination throughout the demanding Heptathlon competition.

The Heptathlon includes seven disciplines: 60m, Long Jump, Shot Put, High Jump, 60m Hurdles, Pole Vault, and 1000m. Will’s performance was nothing short of outstanding, achieving personal bests in six of the events, as well as a new overall Heptathlon personal best of 4894 points.

His bronze-medal-winning effort not only secured him a well-earned spot on the podium but also earned him a prestigious England team place. Will has now been selected to represent England at an international combined events championship in Sweden later this month. This is a significant moment in England Athletics history, as it marks the first time an England team has competed in this particular event. His selection for the England squad is a testament to his hard work and potential in multi-event athletics.

As he prepares for this exciting next challenge, we are incredibly proud of his achievements and wish him the best of luck. No doubt, this is just the beginning of even greater accomplishments for Will in the world of athletics!
